Founder and Owner of Lolei Travel
Peter Lietz was born in Berne, Switzerland, and grew up in Lucerne and Ticino, where his parents operated a restaurant and hotel. He traveled extensively through the Asia Pacific region for one year and was captivated by Cambodia. His great interest in the country's culture and nature led him into the travel business. In 1997 he opened his own agency, Lolei Travel, named after Lolei temple from the Roluos group. In 2002 Peter and his wife Makara, who was born in Kampot Province, made the strategic decision to move the head office from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap to be as close as possible to the tourists who travel primarily to Angkor. That same year Peter and Makara opened Passaggio Boutique Hotel, which is located on the same ground as Lolei Travel head office in Siem Reap. The couple and their two children enjoy visiting the nice beaches and great seafood restaurants of Sihanoukville. Their favourite temples are the unique Angkor Wat and - of course - Lolei.
